Geo 18.1 Build 5: New Features
-
Data files may now be emailed directly from the programs' interfaces via the 'File' menu.
-
The text output of the results view has been improved. It may now be exported
to a range of file formats via the 'File' menu.
-
Standard sets of units (SI, kN-m, kip-ft and kip-in) may be selected via the
Units and Preferences dialog.
-
So as to help users to ensure that they are running the latest software a new
version checking system has been implemented. This compares each executable
file installed locally with the set that Oasys identifies as being the
'current' version. (The comparison is carried out locally; no data is
transmitted to Oasys.) Executables for which updates are available are
highlighted. Updates may then be downloaded from the Program's Downloads page
on the Internet. This system enables rapid delivery of bug fixes and,
occasionally, minor enhancements.
-
Stratum specific ground water has been implemented. The user can now input
phreatic surface and piezometric data specific to each stratum. A number of
changes have been made to the user interface in order to facilitate this
feature e.g. data entry of Strata, Groundwater and Piezometers. Graphical input
has been improved to facilitate entry of multiple phreatic surfaces and
piezometric profiles.
-
Ability to enter and analyse multiple non-circular slips in one data file added.

Outstanding Bugs
-
When an "Open" dialogue box is opened, it would be good if (a) there was a
"favourites" button, using the user's favourites as in Explorer, and (b)
data/time appeared naturally without reorganising the box.Could
the box be bigger? The box should re-appear each time with the
format previously adopted by the user. [O-140].
[NCR 2]
-
Horizontal extension of strata and showing on the graphical output may not be correct.
[NCR 7]
-
Program extends problem limits in the graphical output beyond those defined in
the input data - but extends the strata horizontally, this may not be correct.

-
Horizontal extension of strata and showing on the graphical output may not be correct.
