| Q. |
What Scheduling standards are supported? |
| A. |
CADrebar supports British Standards BS4666:1989, BS8666:2000 and BS8666:2005. Support for other national standards is being considered for future versions. |
|
| Q. |
I am working on some old jobs to BS8666:2000 and new jobs to BS8666:2005. How do I swap between standards? |
| A. |
CADrebar does this automatically. Simply detail your drawing to the 2000 or 2005 standards, and CADrebar will adjust the schedules to suit. |
|
| Q. |
Why can't I open more that one drawing in the same AutoCAD session? |
| A. |
The current version of CADrebar works in 'single drawing interface' (SDI) mode. This means that you cannot open two drawings in the same AutoCAD session. However, you can open two or more AutoCAD sessions and use the clipboard to copy and paste between the drawings. This will be changed in a forthcoming release. |

| Q. |
What is the quickest way of creating single bar labels? |
| A. |
The quickest way of creating single bar labels, is by copying an existing and using "Edit Bar Details" to change the bar label information. Alternatively, you can create a single bar range and delete any unwanted information. |
|
| Q. |
Can I have multiple details at different scale and change the scale during a drawing session? |
| A. |
Yes, when the first bar range in a new drawing is created, CADrebar will ask for the scheduling code and the Scale. You could change the scale at any time during the drawing process by using the "Change Scale" command. CADrebar always uses the scale value, which was set last, to use a previously set scale, just re-set the scale to that value. |

| Q. |
How do I create and link bar labels to a member title? |
| A. |
. Each bar label is part of a member, which allows the grouping of bar labels for the purpose of scheduling. To create a new member use the pull-down menu or the toolbar command "Member Title", place it anywhere in the drawing, and fill in the member details (e.g. title and number off). To link a set of bar labels to a member tile, use the command "Associate Member" (from the Pull-down or the toolbar) and then select the bars labels.
Note: To control the member schedule sequence, precede the member title with a sequential number and a space e.g. "1 BEAM_A2". |

| Q. |
How to find a bar mark in a busy drawing? |
| A. |
CADrebar has a command to find bar marks which will zoom to the first bar label containing the bar mark. If there are more instances of this bar mark, CADrebar allows you to step to the next and/or previous occurrences. You can also search for a string within the bar label e.g. search for "200 B". |
|
| Q. |
Can I supersede bars after they have been scheduled? |
| A. |
Yes, CADrebar allows you to supersede a bar or set of bars and they will be moved to a superseded layer, and appear in the schedule as struck-out. When a bar or set of bars are superseded, CADrebar will ask for a revision to be assigned to these bars. |
|
| Q. |
How can I modify multiple occurrences of a bar mark without editing each bar label instance? |
| A. |
Use the command "Edit Bar Details" on any bar mark that occurs multiple times in the drawing. A dialog box will then pop up, which has a tick box to optionally update all instances of the bar mark. Please note that changes made to the bar mark, member title and "number off" will not be propagated to other bar labels, and these changes will affect the selected bar mark. |

| Q. |
How do I create a new "shape code 99" image file for use in the schedule? |
| A. |
To create an image for a shape code 99, open an appropriate "images drawing" and draw the shape required within the next available numbered box. Sample "images drawings" can be copied from the "Rcdetailing\BS8666" or "RcDetailing\BS4466" directories (e.g. master99-BS4466.dwg). Then, from the pull-down menu select "Generate WMF's" to run the command. In the dialog box, set the range, which in this case will be the number of the box where the shape code 99 has been drawn. Select the "Shape 99's" option, type the file prefix, the output location for the file and finally generate the WMF file. Please note that the file prefix letter defines the location of the metafile. |

| Q. |
How to create a formula file for a new shape code 99? |
| A. |
The best way is to edit an existing file using "Notepad" and apply the changes to the formula for the LENGTH and DIMS_USED. The file should then be saved with the a new name using .ini as the extension. |

| Q. |
How do I stop CADrebar from selecting the entire group when I want to select a single entity? |
| A. |
From the CADrebar menu or the Groups toolbar, select the item "Group selection OFF". To restore the CADrebar group functionality select "Group Selection ON". Generally, you will not have to turn groups off, as the group selection behaviour changes depending on the order in which you issue commands. For instance, if you want to copy all members of a group, select one entity (the whole group will be highlighted) and then use the command. However, if you want to copy just one entity from that group, use the 'copy' command first, and then select the entity. (CADrebar will not add other members of that group to the selection). |
