AdSec

Do you need to analyse a bridge beam for cracking under load? Or perhaps pre-stress a precast slab? Check the capacity of a pile? How about adding carbon fibre sheets to an existing concrete section to increase the strength? Or maybe design a composite mega column? Find out the stiffness and capacity of a stair core? AdSec can do all this and more.

AdSec is an analysis program for sections under load. It was originally developed for analysis of reinforced concrete sections but can now look at concrete, steel or fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sections, plus sections composed of any combinations of these materials.

Analysis options are available for serviceability and ultimate limit states in accordance with a wide range of international design codes, whether for uniaxial or biaxial conditions.

Simplified parametric input of geometry and reinforcement layout is available for regular shaped column and beam sections. Tools allow these simple sections to be assembled into more complex (compound) sections.

Analyse the following load types:

  • Axial loads and bending moments
  • Prestress using bonded and unbonded tendons
  • Differential shrinkage and temperature effects
  • Nominal eccentricity moments
  • Combine long-term dead loads with short-term imposed
  • Derive forces and moments from strains and curvatures

AdSec is available in two versions: Standard and Advanced. Details of features available in each of the versions are given in the functional specifications.
